Bloody Bolton!

Bolton 2-1 West Ham United

Bolton maintained their status as West Ham's bogey team today. Although West Ham dominated 80% of the game, Bolton capitalised on two early defensive errors. The first goal came from a Taylor freekick, who was gifted a great position to strike his set piece from after a foul from Collison. The second came a minute later when Bolton's ever present Davies capitalised on poor defensive positioning and marking from the West Ham back four.

After Davies 11th minute strike West Ham upped the tempo. They got their effective passing game together and dominated towards half time with Noble and Di Michele missing good opportunities. Parker got one back for the Hammers on 66 minutes after the break and the now inspired visitors pressed on towards the final whistle. Cole and Di Michele both unlucky not to get an equaliser for their team as the Hammers trailed off in the three minutes of added time.
